So what is a digital nomad? Did you know I’m one? Watch this short video to hear about it, or read below. A digital nomad is a professional who lives a location independent lifestyle that allows them to travel and do their work wherever they are. The vast majority of this time, this means using telecommunications to earn a living. This is how I'm living as a copywriter! I have no formal office, no cubicle, no formal hours, and basically none of the restrictions of a 9-5.
More generally, digital nomads conduct their lives in a nomadic manner (aka they have no permanent residence), and often travel through and work in foreign countries. My daily office is a friend's house, a hotel or hostel, a coffee shop or restaurant, a public library, or a co-working space. People have different reasons for choosing this lifestyle... and you can see what one of them is in the above video! Owning my own business in an industry in the "knowledge economy" means that the cool side perk of living as a digital nomad is available to me. I can do my work as a copywriter anywhere I am (so long as I have my laptop and a wifi connection, that is). If you are thinking about working with a professional copywriter, I would love to do a free connection call with you. We can talk about what you’re looking for and see if we’re a good fit, and I can provide some initial thoughts on your content, walk you through my process, and address any questions you might have about working together. This conversation is free and no pressure, so don’t be shy. Or if you have a friend who you think would love to work with me, ask me about my referral program. Interested to hear about how I made the switch to a nomadic lifestyle? Let me know in the comments.

How you ever heard someone talking about copywriting and wondered what they were referring to? Check out this short video to find out what they meant. So what made me record this video was that recently I was at a marketing event and the presenter said that copy was just a fancy way of saying “words”. He’s not totally wrong; copy is words. But that’s not a very fulsome explanation, so let me give you a better definition. Copy is words that are designed to persuade. They’re designed to get people to take action. In a nutshell, copywriting is designed to sell. I recorded the video for you from Grand Central Station in New York. I thought it would be apropos to do so because just like the trains leaving the station, good copywriting will also take you places! (Cheese). If you’re thinking about tackling your copywriting yourself, consider subscribing to my YouTube channel by visiting my YouTube page and hitting the "subscribe" button. If you’re thinking about outsourcing like a pro and hiring someone to help you get the job done, check me out here! Food for thought: do you think the words on your website persuasive? Why or why not? Leave a comment below and I will get back to you. |
